Q: Why is this "workbook" on a CD
instead of a printed book? |
| A:(1) It is cost
effective for you and for me. Since I save printing costs, I
don’t have to charge as much per “book!” (2) You can modify the pages! *Add your students’ names to stories to make them more interesting. *Choose a smaller font or adjust margins to save paper. *Delete or add questions to modify for specific students or classes. |
| Q:Do I need to renew my site-license yearly? |
| A:No. Once you have purchased it, it is yours! |
| Q:How do I modify the passages? |
| A:The passages
are written in Microsoft Word. You can change fonts, text size, color,
etc. as you would with any Word document. Each question is in a text
box. You can drag these boxes anywhere on a page. Any changes you make
will not save to the original CD, but you can do a “save
as” on your computer. |
| Q:Can I share these passages with
others? |
| A:If
you have purchased a one-classroom copy of the disk, please do not
share with others. If your school has purchased a site-license, the CD
can be put on a server and anyone in the school may make as many copies
as necessary. Copyright prohibits sharing among schools. Thank you for
understanding. |
| Q:What parts of the Texas
curriculum do these books cover? |
| A:The passages
are in the format of the reading TAKS and cover the reading objectives
tested. They also cover all science TEKS. Of course, you will need to
do hands-on science as well to make sure your students are allowed to
"do," rather than just read about, science! |
| Q:May I try out your sample
passages with my students? |
| A:Yes, you may
make one class set of copies. |
